Give it twenty minutes.
“Took about 20 mins to get going and then lasted for just over 6 hours…” A wax block isn’t kindling. The flame builds as the pool spreads — don’t judge the heat in the first five minutes.
A bit of kitchen roll helps it catch.
“I struggled to get it going at first but when I found out the trick to put a bit of kitchen roll on the fire, I was really impressed with the heat output!”
The lid is the off switch.
“You just slide the lid on to stop the flames and that’s it! No black smoke everywhere and nothing else to do.” Same lid, next time: take it off, light it, carry on.
Yes, there’s a little soot.
“There is a small amount of soot which comes off the fire. It gives off a fair amount of heat. Was a perfect addition to my outside entertainment area.” The top darkens with use — a wipe takes most of it off once it’s completely cool.

The Fuego is absolutely amazing!
It’s so easy to set up and super cosy once lit and a good flame is established.
When you have finished with it, you just slide the lid on to stop the flames and that’s it! No black smoke everywhere and nothing else to do. When you next need it, remove the lid and light and repeat
Just what we needed as we have a wooden deck where we use our fire pit ,, this offers extra protection
Some people say you should "embrace the faff" of building a proper campfire, but I’m definitely one for maximum enjoyment with minimal effort. The EcoFuego gives you all the heat with absolutely none of the hassle.
The ease of lighting it is fantastic - you get decent heat in seconds. Once it's going, there’s no ongoing maintenance while it burns. You don't have to keep messing with logs or blowing on embers; you just sit back and actually enjoy it. Putting it out is just as easy, you literally just place the lid on top.

Fantastic bit of kit! Spent a bit extra for the wood look and whilst one only used it 3 times so far it’s been brilliant. Great flames and does put some real heat! It looks so much like a real fire I had to put it out in a campsite as looked too much like a campfire and they were not allowed. No mess, no stinky smoke - brilliant!

We’ve got a standard fire pit which we’ve used a lot and bought a camping El Campo which we’ve used when camping and in the garden.
Love the warmth and staring into the flames without getting wood smoke in hair, eyes etc.

Awesome bit of kit burned for 6 hours like a proper fire only downside is stainless steel fire pit is covered in wax residue off lid, other than that i love it

We have only tried our El campo at home at the moment but first impressions are great, it gives off enough heat to sit outside on a chilly evening. Only tried the cinnamon at the moment and was disappointed as it doesn't smell of anything.
I bought one today, lit it this evening, even though it was a bit windy. It was lovely to see the flames dance, no smoke, no dodging sparks as you would on a wood fire. We were kept warm. It was just perfect. Thinking of buying another one 😊.
